Women leaders in technology and the audiovisual industry will inspire new generations at the 4K HDR Summit 2025

  • The summit, “where technology and content have time to talk”, will feature a special space to highlight female talent and its influence on audiovisual innovation and the technology sector.
  • The eleventh edition of the 4K HDR Summit will take place from 11 to 14 November, with two in-person days (Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12) at the Cartuja Auditorium in Seville TechPark and another two virtual days.

According to the report “Professional women in European TV/SVOD fiction production 2015-2023”, published in 2025 by the European Audiovisual Observatory, women continue to be under-represented in leadership and decision-making positions within the European audiovisual industry, despite advances in visibility and representation. The study highlights that, although female participation in the production of content for television and digital platforms has increased slightly, their presence in key areas such as directing, content creation, engineering and project management remains low, highlighting the structural barriers that still persist.

In Spain, the State Public Employment Service’s Observatory of Occupations published a study in 2024 entitled “The labour market in the audiovisual sector in Spain in 2024”, which highlights the gender gap that exists in the audiovisual and technology sector as a whole, one of the most dynamic and strategic sectors in the current economic landscape. According to this report, 62.79% of people employed in audiovisual-related activities were men and 37.21% were women, reflecting a significant difference in participation and leadership compared to the national average.

In this context, the 4K HDR Summit 2025 will serve as a showcase to give voice and presence to female talent in the audiovisual and technology industry. Cisco, recognised for its commitment to diversity, inclusion and innovation, will be represented by María Martín Jódar, Account Manager for Telecom & Media, and María Isabel Arias, Sales Leader – Service Providers & Media at Iberia Cybersecurity. Both Cisco professionals will share their experience and vision on the role of women in the technology sector, highlighting female leadership and the company’s commitment to promoting inclusive and diverse work environments.

The event will be held from 11 to 14 November at the Cartuja Auditorium in Seville TechPark, with two in-person days (Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12) and two virtual days (Thursday 13 and Friday 14), consolidating Seville as the international capital of Ultra High Definition and a meeting point where technology and content have time to talk.

In addition, the 4K HDR Summit 2025 will feature a specific space to highlight the role of women in the technology and audiovisual industry. This forum will bring together prominent leaders from technology companies, audiovisual production companies and professional associations who will share their vision and experiences to inspire new generations to join the field of innovation and technology. Participants will include Úrsula Romero, CEO of International Sports Broadcasting (ISB); Irantzu Díez-Gamboa, Regional CEO of North America at Grup Mediapro; Dagmar Driesnack, Senior Solutions Engineer at Appear; Pilar Crespo, Chair of the Board of Directors of Asociación Andaluza de Mujeres de los Medios Audiovisuales (AAMMA) and Producer at Magnetika Producciones; and Laura González, Director, Market Intelligence & Monetisation at Whale TV, who, among other professionals, will deliver inspiring messages to the girls and women who will be the future leaders of the sector.
