- The platform already uses artificial intelligence to enhance historic matches, including Maradona’s legendary duel with Sevilla against Real Madrid.
Sevilla FC was one of the main protagonists at the 4K HDR Summit 2025, where it presented its Sevilla FC+ platform to more than 200 experts from the sports and audiovisual sector. This digital ecosystem is redefining the way the club interacts with its global fanbase. Communications Director Álvaro Ramírez explained how this transformation places Sevilla among the most innovative European clubs: “Today we are not just talking about an audiovisual platform, we are talking about a strategic project that is changing the way we understand our relationship with our fans,” he told the audience.
Ramírez highlighted that Sevilla FC continues to be the fourth largest club in Spain in terms of social media followers, with more than 28 million fans spread across the globe, and emphasised the role of technology in the club’s international growth. He also revealed that the platform already incorporates advanced artificial intelligence processes to enhance historic matches, such as the legendary encounter in which Diego Armando Maradona, dressed in red and white, shone against Real Madrid. “We are recovering historic images that have never been seen before in this quality. It is a gift for Sevillistas and for football,” he said.

Sevilla FC+ began as an OTT (an OTT is a content platform distributed entirely over the Internet), but has evolved into a fully integrated 360º digital ecosystem with the official website, the club’s app and Smart TVs. The platform allows up to six simultaneous channels , offering exclusive content, archive restoration, mini-documentaries and new audiovisual narratives, all managed from a single CMS. “We didn’t want just another platform: we wanted the entire Sevilla ecosystem to coexist in the same environment. Today, we produce, publish and analyse from a single system that optimises the work of the entire club,” explained Ramírez.
The first few months reflect the success of the project: more than one million unique users, three million video views, 50,000 subscribers, 900% growth in video impressions and 35% more advertising impact. Ramírez summed it up as follows: “Sevilla FC+ is already a sustainable model. We have turned our digital transformation into a real, efficient business unit with international reach.” He also highlighted that this growth has been accompanied by greater segmentation capacity and user knowledge thanks to the digital identity system.
Looking to the future, Sevilla FC confirmed that one of its immediate steps will be the progressive integration of 4K content, aligning itself with international audiovisual production standards. “The next leap is clear: more quality, more loyalty and more premium content. We are already prepared to take that step,” said Ramírez. The club also plans to expand the use of AI and launch new exclusive formats during 2026.

Sevilla FC’s presentation took place at an edition of the 4K HDR Summit marked by major announcements, such as RTVE’s confirmation that it will broadcast the 2026 World Cup, the Benidorm Fest and the Copa del Rey in Ultra High Definition.
